Justify

It has always seemed pretty clear to me that it is a whole lot easier to do the right thing than it is to try and justify your actions.

It’s easier to speak up than it is to justify why you allowed amoral behavior.

It’s easier to tell the truth than it is to justify telling lies.

I don’t think these choices are easy, they’re just easier than rehashing, spinning and justifying an alternative choice.

That’s why morals have such a pull on our psyche. They’re crystal clear on what is the right choice to make.

It’s easier to uphold our morals than it is to justify why we didn’t.
