There’s a trap in being a spectator. You’re essentially powerless to the outcome, merely hoping it will turn out how you want as you watch from the sidelines. Depending on how it’s going, you could either find yourself suffering with anxiety, or swaggering with arrogance.
In any case, you’re not really contributing to the action, so perhaps you don’t need to be so heavily invested in what others are doing.
It seems like it can be fun to be a spectator, but it can also be a trap.
If you find yourself panicking over how others are performing, you might want to redirect your attention to your own actions. The antidote to the paralysis of worry is action. Get up, and get moving. Do some activity that brings you joy.
And forget about what others are doing, or choosing to do.
