This may sound overly simple, but it’s extremely empowering to remember that all we are ever really dealing with is a thought, and that can be changed.
It truly just boils down to our thoughts on any given subject. Are we feeling resistance in our thoughts about it? Or are we in agreement with it?
This simple concept may take a while to sink in. It’s only taking me an entire lifetime to get it. And I still have to consistently remind myself that such a simple concept can be the answer to all of the problems.
What helps, is that there are some really effective lessons on this from some of my favorite teachers. Mel Robbins has a great quote that can help punctuate this concept. She says: “If you don’t like something, just take away its only power: Your Attention.”
It’s simple, yet powerful. All we are ever really dealing with is a thought (like our judgment, or attention), and that can be changed.
