Around the holidays I remember how much I love the word Jolly.
It’s a word used to describe Jolly Old Saint Nicholas aka Santa Claus, and it fits perfectly for what it means, which is happy and cheerful.
People love the idea of Santa Claus because he’s jolly, and I’ll bet part of what makes him jolly is because he’s so loved. It’s a magical concept of wonderfully reciprocal goodwill and cheer.
We sure could use a little more jolly in this world.
Imagine how wonderful it would be if we all made more of an effort to be happy and cheerful.
