“Never” is purely a fictional concept, because there’s just no end to the unfolding of creation.
Since there is no end, then saying something will “never happen,” is just a bad guess. In the grand scheme of forever and ever, chances are that it might indeed happen at some point.
The truth is, we just don’t know enough to ever say the chances are “never.”
The only appropriate use of the word, is to remind yourself to never say never, and then choose to see the amazingly awesome, positive ramifications of that whole idea.
