I have this habit I’m working to change, where I tend to not fully live in the now. I tend to waste my precious moments wishing that it was a future moment in time, a time I think will be better than the present. I’m trying to change this habit, because I’ve realized it’s a trap. If I keep spending my time wishing it was a later moment, then when that future moment arrives, I’ll just end up wishing that away too.
Wayne Dyer said: “While eating your appetizer, don’t be concerned with dessert.” In other words, enjoy the gift of the present now, while you have it, and then enjoy what’s to come in its own time.
That is a fantastic way to guarantee a joyful, fully lived life.
