It’s common to bond with each other over complaining about what’s wrong with the world. But thinking about what’s wrong, and then complaining about it is exactly how to perpetuate all that is wrong.
We get what we think about. We create what we speak of.
Jesus says: “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” He couldn’t be more clear. So this is actually a really good thing.
If we get what we ask for, if we find exactly what we are thinking about, then we should be talking about all that is going well for us. We should be asking for more and more good things to happen, and not spend any time griping about the bad.
Author Pam Grout says: “Once we begin to look for what’s right, our lives begin spinning in unimaginably exciting new directions.”
Just imagine how amazing the world would be if all we focused on was what we appreciated.
