Eckhart Tolle says: Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.
If we were to truly heed his words and realize this statement deeply and consistently, then I believe that most of our suffering would cease.
Suffering comes from resistance. And what we are resisting most consistently is the present moment. We’re either wallowing in guilt and regret over the past, or we’re gripped in fear and anxiety over the future, all while totally ignoring the fact that those things don’t exist in this very moment outside of our minds.
In this very moment we have everything we need. And as Eckhart Tolle says, this moment is all that we ever have.
