When I feel overwhelmed, it’s because I’m thinking I need to solve all of the problems in my world right in that immediate moment. I don’t even know where to start, but I already feel like I’m behind.
The deal with thinking about all of your problems is that you’re actively directing your thoughts towards problems, so you’re practicing a problem-oriented mindset, which only helps to dig up more potential problems that you weren’t even aware of. And that’s overwhelming!
An approach that I’m finding to be much more calming, is to realize that everything I need for this moment, is all here, now. All that there is, is this moment, now. And, so, if moment by moment I just focus on what is needed right then and there, I’m not overwhelmed with problems then, just only experiencing an opportunity.
