History shows how it was done.

The circumstances are different presently, so it’s not a perfect model for how to do things now.

However, those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

So, even if the circumstances are updated, the lesson learned still has merit.

The point here is, honor history, just don’t get stuck looking back at it.
