I’m sailing through on a lifelong quest to fully experience (and maintain) joyful living. And all of my discoveries keep pointing out that it comes from within.
In other words, we don’t have to look very far to find joy. It’s already there, inside of us.
Eckhart Tolle says, Pleasure is always derived from something outside you, whereas joy arises from within.
Perhaps that’s why it seems so easy for little kids and even our little pets to be joyful. They don’t require much to be happy. They don’t need a big bank account, fancy cars, or a huge following to be joyful. Those things don’t really bring joy anyway. Whatever pleasure we get from them is only short-lived.
Joy, however, can last. Joy doesn’t require any thing from the outside.
We can tap into joy anytime we want, as it’s always there, within.
