Life is a lot like the idea of trick or treating on Halloween.
This idea of trick or treating, was that supposedly you go around offering a choice to people; either they give you a treat, or you play a trick on them.
But, there’s no need for the threat. All you have to do is show up with your Halloween bag open to receive, and they simply give you the treats. The deal is understood.
Outside of Halloween we need to realize this for all of life.
We don’t have to trick or coerce the people in our life to be kind to us.
All we need to do is show up open and willing to receive kindness, and that’s how we’ll be able to get that treat.
