When I really question why I want anything that I want, it seems to always be for the same reason. It’s because I think I will be happy once I get it.
Happiness is the real endgame.
The reality is, that happiness can be had without any prerequisites required. So, why not just go directly for the main event, and be happy for no reason whatsoever?
Deepak Chopra says to be happy for no reason, like a child. He says, If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.
He’s referring to conditional happiness, which is a sure way to really muck up how to be happy. I say drop the conditions, and focus on the real endgame: being happy just for the sake of happiness.
