Show, don’t tell

Actions speak louder than words. It’s a true statement, but looks funny written out. After all, words are what we use to communicate. But they often fall short in telling an effective story.

Isn’t it a picture that’s worth a thousand words? That can mean that a picture is an extremely valuable source of information, while also revealing the relatively low value of words.

Show it, don’t tell it. You can describe who you are, what you’re all about, and what you’re going to do till the cows come home, but the only real way you can convince anyone of any of that, is in your actions.

Saying I love you is so nice, and most always appreciated, but showing your love through your actions is what counts. Saying I’m sorry doesn’t mean anything until you show it. And saying you’re the greatest really has no bearing until you actual do something great.
