The past is an imaginary place that doesn’t exist. You can’t live there.
Even if they could invent one of those Sci-Fi time machines and you were to go back, you’d find that the “real” past isn’t anywhere near the same as the one you’ve romanticized in your memories.
Life does keep marching forward, however. So, if you spend too much time trying to look back at this imaginary past, eventually your memories of this will be of that time you did nothing but sit around and look back.
