We all want to be understood. It starts when you decide to understand someone else. Extend to them the same courtesy you would like to receive. Teach them how it's done. Then you're golden.
It's wonderful to feel understood. In order for that to happen, someone has to make an effort to understand you. It might be a good idea to remember that effort, and to try and extend your own understanding for others in the same way.
