Freedom means you have the ability to choose an action. But, freedom doesn't absolve you from consequences. No freedom ever saves you from consequences. Thinking so is beyond ignorant, it's plain stupid. However, people are free to be stupid if they'd like. They just have to deal with the consequences of being so.
