We are now bombarded with “breaking news” 24/7.
But is it really news? Or is it just sensational “gossip” phrased to keep us on edge and tuned in for as much of our personal 24 hours as possible?
After all, eyeballs translate into ad dollars, somehow.
Really, how does all of this excess “news” help? What are we supposed to do with it, other than become more anxious and depressed?
It’s not needed and it’s not helpful.
I recently read a great statement someone made about how in the ’70s they only got their news two times a day, the morning paper and the evening TV broadcast, and they still got rid of Nixon!
What are we getting with all the crap spewed today? Conspiracy theories and homegrown terrorists. Not to mention being captive to the insanity performed by a slew of political mongrels that make Nixon seem benign.
It’s advisable to shut off the “news” as much as possible.
