Care

Anytime I’ve heard someone say “I don’t care,” they say it with such emotion, whether it’s annoyance, or defeat that it’s painfully obvious they do indeed care.

I wonder when it became fashionable to pretend you’re not human and you don’t care? And I wonder who decided it was better to sound like a sociopath rather than admit you’re overwhelmed?

Because if you feel the need to announce that you don’t care, all signs point to the fact that you do, in truth, care.
