Unless or until kindness is the leading algorithm there really is no good reason for social media to exist.
Sure, it supposedly helps democratize the dissemination of news and information. But does it really?
Or does it warp and mold it to fit into whatever bubble you feel most comfortable in?
And have you noticed that what you think feels most comfortable is a bubble filled with negative cruelty and comparisons? Not so comfortable.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if kindness went viral? If thoughtfulness, respect and compassion got all the likes?
The more acts of kindness people are exposed to, the more they would be inspired to do so as well. Now, that would be a great reason to have social media.
