Vanity

Vanity is usually a trait employed to cover up a deep insecurity. Not about one’s looks, or talent, whatever they’re vain about, but an insecurity that it’s all they’re good for.

If someone acts extremely vain over their good looks, it’s usually because they think (or have been told) that they hold no other value.

So vanity is a sin that, like most anything else, is about more than meets the eye.
