July is right smack dab in the heart of the summer.
Even still, the harsh weather shocks, and if you find yourself doing anything other than hanging out by the pool or the beach, in a hammock or a dark and cool movie theater, then it almost feels like you’re being pranked. It’s too hot and the days are too long, yet responsibilities just don’t seem to take a vacation.
In The States we celebrate our independence on the 4th of July, and most neighborhoods seem to have folks who “test” their fireworks weeks ahead of the big day, and even weeks after.
Once Independence Day is fully celebrated, the rest of July is filled with photos of people we all somehow know posting their fabulous European vacations all over social media.
July is a long and hot month, and yet it always seems to zip by. Just as we get used to the idea of Summer, we find ourselves rushing into the dog days.
Good thing there’s ice cream, or gelato for those vacationers abroad, to help make it a memorable month.
